Getting dressed for formal and black tie events can break the bank. Two of Charlotte's businesses, Dressed Charlotte and Tuxedo Lady are collaborating to bring rentable formal fashion for both men and women to Charlotte. Their collaboration will focus on large events including homecoming, prom, bridal parties and black tie galas. The goal of the collaboration is to create a local alternative to larger chains with highly personal client service while still maintaining reasonable pricing where alternatives are charging significantly more. Women will be able to rent formal dresses for under $100 and men will be able to rent an entire formal outfit for under $200.

Running into each other at several fashion and wedding industry events, Bernadette and La Shanda learned their approach to their clients and their businesses were very similar. "We both believe in high touch client service. People have many options in Charlotte on where to shop, but our clients support our businesses because we get to know them personally" says La Shanda. "We also make sure that we work with each client's personal style and preferences, and we are still able to provide very reasonable pricing. We are really proud of that" says Bernadette.

Dressed Charlotte and Tuxedo Lady for Cosmolinx by Nerd PhotographyWith Tuxedo Lady providing menswear and Dressed Charlotte providing womenswear, it was natural to refer clients to one another. Those referrals led to a two-way consulting and mentoring relationship. They soon began attending fashion and wedding events jointly to promote both their businesses. It soon became obvious that their next step would be offer promotions together where men and women can get dressed together via their services for one low price. They are currently offering a homecoming as well as upcoming holiday package where a couple can rent a tuxedo and a dress for $200 including all taxes and fees.
